CIC Scholarship Program

Deadline March 31st

The Construction Industry Center Board of Directors has established this scholarship program in an effort to encourage and assist young people in our communities. Again, this year, the program is open to include all eligible students, regardless of their field of study. Up to ten (10) awards of $500.00 each may be given to individuals who meet ALL eligibility requirements as listed below. Additionally, one (1) $1,000 award may be presented to an individual as the essay award winner. Scholarships will be limited to one per year per award winner. The eligible individuals will be judged on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, school and non-school activities and their answers to the questions on the application form. The judging will be done impartially without basis of religion, race, gender or age. Deadline for applications is March 31st. Award winners will be notified by May 1. Winners will be presented with a certificate, which will be redeemable after August 1 by providing C.I.C. with school registration confirmation. There will be a limit of four (4) scholarships awarded to an individual.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

     

    1. GRADUATING SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL OR HIGHER. MUST BE A FULL TIME STUDENT.
    2. PARENTS OR GUARDIANS OF APPLICANT MUST OWN OR BE EMPLOYED BY A C.I.C. MEMBER FIRM MAINTAINING A CURRENT ASSOCIATE OR FULL MEMBERSHIP IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CENTER.
    3. MUST BE ENTERING OR ATTENDING AN ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY OR TRADE SCHOOL.
    4. FILL OUT APPLICATION FORM IN ITS ENTIRETY AND RETURN TO C.I.C. ALONG WITH TRANSCRIPT AND REFERENCE LETTERS BY THE MARCH 31ST DEADLINE.
    5. ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT AN ESSAY FOR THEIR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE. 
      The essay should be 500 words or less, typewritten, 8.5” x 11” page w/ 1” margins, double-spaced. Consideration will be given to original, unique ideas, neatness, clarity, and grammar, spelling and punctuation.

South Dakota Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Scholarship

Deadline December 31st

 The Purpose of the South Dakota Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Education Foundation Scholarship Program is to elevate the technical and business competence of the Plumbing, Heating and Cooling industry by awarding scholarships to young people who wish to attain a career in the industry.

The Deadline for all applications and supporting material is December 31st.

NAWIC Scholarships

Deadline February 28th

Each year we are pleased to award over $100,000 to worthy recipients in construction-related programs. Award amounts range from $500 to $2,500. Some local chapters award scholarships as well. For questions on eligibility please see below or email us at nfsf@nawic.org.

Applications must be postmarked by February 28th of each year to qualify for competition.

Undergraduate Scholarship  Eligibility:  Applicant must be currently enrolled in a construction-related degree program at a school in the United States and must have a least one term remaining in a course of study leading to a degree or an associate degree in a construction-related field. High school seniors are not eligible. Applicant must desire a career in a construction-related field.  Applicant must be enrolled full-time. Applicant must have a current cumulative GPA or 3.0 or higher to be considered for awards. Construction Trades Scholarship Eligibility: Applicant must be currently enrolled in a construction-related training program which is approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training, community college, technical school or equivalent. Build Dakota Scholarship Fund

Build Dakota Scholarship Fund

 

Build Dakota is a new scholarship program created through a $50 million investment funded by a $25 million donation from T. Denny Sanford and a $25 million contribution from the South Dakota Future Fund.

Build Dakota Scholarships will be awarded to skilled scholars entering high-need workforce programs at South Dakota technical institutes.

AGC Education and Research Foundation Scholarships

Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships

Deadline November 1st

The AGC Education and Research Foundation offers undergraduate and graduate level scholarships to students enrolled in ABET or ACCE -accredited construction management or construction related engineering programs. Over $10 million in scholarships have been awarded to more than 4,000 students attending colleges and universities across the country. The criteria to apply for undergraduate and graduate scholarships outlines the eligibility to apply. Applications Open July 1.

Workforce Development Scholarships

For students entering craft training or technical programs, The AGC Education and Research Foundation is happy to announce that thanks to a generous contribution from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and its Build Your Future initiative, the first Build Your Future Scholarship were awarded to nineteen applicants in the summer of 2015. The criteria to apply for this scholarship outlines eligibility. Applications for 2019 will be accepted starting March 1st until June 1st.

SDAGC Highway Heavy Scholarships

The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota Highway-Heavy-Utilities Chapter (AGC) is committed to providing scholarships for students pursuing a career in a construction-related education program at a college/university or technical institute.  A list of AGC provided scholarships is shown below:

 

· $5,000 Sioux Falls Contractors Association Scholarship – Split into multiple scholarships awarded to various students enrolled at a college/university or a technical institute.

· $2,500 BX “Excellence” Women in Construction Scholarship – Awarded to a female student enrolled at a college/university or a technical institute student.

· $2,000 AGC Associate Division Scholarship – Awarded to a student enrolled at a college/university.

· $1,000 AGC Scholarship – Awarded to a student enrolled at a college/university or a technical institute student.

· $1,000 Floyd Knight Memorial – Awarded to a student enrolled at a technical institute.

· $2,500 SDLICA

NOTE:  The AGC also provides many other scholarships each year than what is listed above. It is AGC’s goal to provide financial assistance to all eligible applicants, if possible.

 Eligible applicants must have a desire to pursue a highway-heavy-utilities construction career and be sponsored by an AGC member.

ARTBA Foundation Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship

Deadline April 1st

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is now accepting applications for the “Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program” for the 2014-15 academic year. The scholarship provides financial assistance to help the children of highway workers killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty pursue post-high school education.

Launched in 1999 through a generous gift from the families of past ARTBA Chairmen, Jack (1991) and Stan (1999) Lanford of Roanoke, Va., the program is supported today with contributions from industry foundations, firms and executives, and labor organizations. The scholarships, which have a value up to $5,000, have helped more than 100 worthy students from across the nation.

Design and Construction Scholarship

StoneCraft Kitchen and Bath is proud to present an annual scholarship for students who are interested in studying Design, Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management.

This $500 Award will be sent directly to the winner. Application closes October 15, 2024 and the winner will be announced by November 30.

 Who is eligible: Incoming freshman or current college students at an accredited college or trade school. Students must be able to prove acceptance or enrollment.
